Facial prostheses are prostheses attached to the facial bones to enlarge them. The aim is to enlarge and dislocate a small chin or inadequate cheekbones. All faces where the jaw or cheekbone is not the required size can benefit from this type of prosthesis.
Jaw prostheses can be placed inside the mouth, from the deepest part of your lower lip, or with a cut made under the chin. Putting it under the chin ensures that the prosthesis is placed in the cleanest way without touching the mouth, but a few cm cut is made under the chin and a scar is left, albeit imperceptibly.

Cheekbone prostheses are always placed inside the mouth. The cut is made from the deepest part of the upper lip and the prosthesis is placed under the cheek. Since all intraoral cuts are closed with absorbable sutures, there are usually no stitches to be removed.
It is not a painful operation. After the operation, there will be swelling in the surgical areas. This swelling may make the prosthesis placed by the end of the 4th week appear approximately 30% larger than it is. It may take months to see the real result.

In the first days, you may have a slight pain in jaw movements. But you can usually return to your normal life in a few days, and you can start sports after a few weeks.
